I Call A Do-Over

Life'sNotFairPrincessBride

28) Something You Regret

So one thing that I regret…I try not to dwell too much on the past and wish for do-overs. After all we only have one life:

RelientKOneLifetoLive

But if I had to pick one thing…hmmm…I know just what it is. Time to go back to 2009!

Back to the Future

So when I was in high school I did theater. Yep, I was  theater geek.

the wolfman play acting stage

I did musicals and plays. It was a lot of fun and taught me a lot of skills for public speaking and presenting. If only employers appreciated it.

So one play I was in, a made a BIG mistake. In fact it is one thing I regret and wish I could do-over.

clueless mybad oops

So I’ve done a post in the past on how I have had some guys like me who I don’t like. Most of them were a bit creepy in the fact that they were extremely clingy and always trying to be next to me.

No

Now I had one guy who was my friend, but like we found out in When Harry Met Sally that’s a hard thing to do, and he liked me. I wasn’t interested in him as we were too similar in our personalities. It would have turned out very bad.

No thank youhowaboutno

So we both tried out for the school play, as we both enjoyed the theater, and won some of the lead roles.

Double double yay

The only problem? Our characters were in a relationship.

Spoke too soon

So as our characters were together, Patrick, my friend, started to blend fiction with reality and started thinking we were together.

Overly-Attached-GF-Marriage-Proposal

Just kidding. He wasn’t that intense.

Anyways, he started acting really possessive. He  started to treat it like we were together; trying to plan out dates and didn’t like me talking to other guys. This started to make me really mad.

I don't think so

This made me very upset. I didn’t like the way he was treating me, so I did the only thing I could think of. I spoke to the director.

I told him what was happening and asked him if he could speak to him on it. Tell him he noticed that he was taking the play a little bit farther then he should. I told him I needed help because it was making so uncomfortable and hurting my ability to perform well. He said he would talk to him.

Finally something GOOD!

I was so happy that everything would work out. The next day however, I the director told me that he decided not to say anything as he thought anything he said would harm Patrick’s performance.

Ryan-Gosling-Oh-No-You-Didnt-Half-Nelson

I was so upset. And I continued to be uncomfortable. Unfortunately, this really hurt my acting as my scenes with him weren’t as good as they should have been.

uh-no-gif

I just couldn’t add to his fantasy that we were “really together”, when we weren’t.

Stop stop it now!

I wasn’t horrible, as lucky for me our characters, while in a relationship, were having some problems.  So I was okay…

Mehsleepyhollownotimportant

But not fantastic like I could have been. In fact, that director was so mad at me, that he never worked with me again.

Now I am more mature and to able deal with such an issue, I realize that I was actually the whiner in this. If I could do it again I would do it much differently. I would have just ignored his attentions, and continued acting well.

I-got-this-reaction-gif

But unfortunately I was a teenager, and we all know that teenagers do not have the best common sense.

NothingThatcan'tbeunfixedcommonsenseMissPettigrewLives4aDay

Oh, well. It was a mistake, but we just have to move on and learn from it.

I Wanna Get Off This Ride

In my hometown we have these events three times a year where all the shops in downtown put their items out on the sidewalk and make a huge celebration of the summer and winter solstice in order to try and get more customers and sell things. I’m performing in a play this summer, so our company performed scenes from the production we will be putting on next month. The only problem is, as this is the summertime, it is HOT!

too_hot_7215

And because we are doing a Shakespeare play, we have to wear a lot of clothing. As I am a girl my costume involved long sleeves, high collar, and underskirt. It was so hot, I thought I was going to faint and I nearly did. I very low heat tolerance.

ItsTooHot-44191

So to fix this, I went to 7-11 to get a Slurpee.

FarStar

What’s nice about Slurpees, is that 7-11 is having a great deal on which you can get a refill (if you have a Slurpee cup) that is way cheaper than buying a new one. As I collect the special edition Slurpee cups I have a wide range to choose from.

Of course I’m the kind of person who likes the most bang for their buck. Since it was EXTREMELY hot, I filled up my huge Hulk 44 oz cup.

tumblr_mdka4p1qoq1ryb0hd

Now I don’t do a lot of sugar and I never drink soda. When I get a Slurpee that big I only drink half and save the rest for the next day. However, as I really didn’t have a place to put it and it was very, very hot outside, I ended up finishing it all.

Man I was so wired. I’m usually a very mellow person, but I was all over the place that night. I’m like Twitchy (squirrel from Hoodwinked) on coffee.

It was great for the performances, and for passing out flyers, but that night it was awful. I couldn’t fall asleep and kept my sister up for hours just talking because I couldn’t settle down. When I tried to go to bed that night my mind kept going around and around and wouldn’t stop. I felt like the carousel in Strangers on A Train. Even though I wanted it to stop and get off, my mind just kept revolving as I kept thinking of everything I did that day, was doing the next day, was doing the next week; etc.

And then the next day I woke up feeling awful.

sugar-coma

I think it was a combo of the heat, sugar, and the fact that I hadn’t eaten too much that day. Definitely not going to have a repeat.

Now, some of you may wonder if this means that I’m giving up slurpees. Well no way, this just means that next time I’m going with a 22 or 28 oz.

I could never give up Slurpees!

Someone Very Special: The Addam’s Family Values (1993)

Addams_family_values

You’ll meet someone. Someone very special. Someone who won’t press charges.

I love this movie soooooo, soooo, soooooo, sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much!!!!

love it

I have to watch it every October (and really any other time of the year). I  have loved this movie since I was a kid as it is so hilarious and the dialogue is truly amazing.

I really don’t know where to start with this post as I love every part of this film. To be honest, you just need to watch it! It is that good. This is one of the few times where the sequel far surpasses the original.

Say What

Yes you heard me. The sequel was better.

I just love Morticia and Gomez, they are an amazing couple.

AddamsFamilyValues

So yeah…

Addams Family

The story is that Morticia and Gomez have had a new baby; which Wednesday and Pugsly hate and are trying to destroy. Morticia and Gomez attempt to hire a nanny because Morticia would like some time to herself; and as said before the other children cannot be trusted with the new addition.

“Morticia: [to Gomez] I’m just like any modern woman trying to have it all. Loving husband, a family. It’s just, I wish I had more time to seek out the dark forces and join their hellish crusade.”

After going through a slew of prospects, they finally hire Debbie Jellinsky, played by the amazing Joan Cusack. Debbie seems really nice at first, but we find out that she is trying to get close to Uncle Fester, marry him, kill him, and steal all his money. In fact we find out that Debbie is no ordinary gold-digger, but a full on serial killer.

addams family love and jewelry

And Murder?

Wednesday and Pugsly discover her true intentions, so Debbie has them sent off to a summer camp which is hilarious. This has some of the best scenes in the film as the kids wreak true Addams’ family havoc.

addams family values not perky not happy

Debbie tries to complete her plot, but it takes a lot to kill an Addamses! Just watch the film! You’ll love it!

**** Contains Spoilers ****

So one of my favorite parts, is the play that they put on at the summer camp. In the film the camp counselors have broken Wednesday and Pugsly’s spirits, forcing them to watch happy films which causes them to become perky. They and the other “losers” of the camp

are playing the Native Americans in a Thanksgiving play that one of the counselors wrote. But nothing ever goes as planned when an Addams is involved!

Wednesday is AWESOME! I love her. Christina Ricci did an amazing job at being her. I couldn’t imagine a better person.

My other most absolute favorite part is when we get to hear Debbie’s backstory, and why she turned to a life of murder and thievery.

I LOVE this part so much! I have the whole thing memorized and love to recite it!

That’s today’s terrifying post! More to come! 8 Days ‘Till Halloween!

Here’s a cover page/poster I made for my facebook page as part of my countdown to Halloween last year.

Some People Are Just Born Evil: The Bad Seed (1956)

Some people are just born evil

The Bad Seed is an amazing film. It is based on the novel by William March, which was turned into a play, and then became the film.

I hate to say too much, because I believe it really should be watched.

It is such an incredible film, because it was the first of its kind. After this film, the idea of this particular type of villian was used in countless other films.

It also was one of the first films to incorpiorate two different psychologocal theories: the theory of Nurture vs. Nature (and which one really makes up more of who we are); along the theory that everything you have is inherited from your parents (that not only you inherit your hair color, eye color, and height; but that you can inherit personality traits: such as being a bank robber or a serial killer.)

Trust me, watch this film! It will astonish and amaze you!

Just remember one thing:

[last title card]
“Title Card: You have just seen a motion picture whose theme dares to be startlingly different. May we ask that you do not divulge the unusual climax of this story. Thank you. “

Here’s poster I made for my cover page on facebook in honor or Halloween. Hope ya love it.
