Hot Humid Days are Reading Days

I don’t know about you all, but it is HOT here.

It has been in the 100s, so not pleasant at all. This being the first day of summer means it will only get worse.

In fact I don’t want to do anything, and I most certainly do not want to do anything outside.

I mean it feels like you are stepping out into an oven. Immediately sweat pours out of every pore.

So what is a girl to do?

Iced Tea

Yep, it is the perfect weather to sit indoors enjoying your air conditioning, iced tea, and a good book.

England Dreamin’ On Such a Summer’s Day

All the grass is brown and the sky is gray.
I’ve been for a walk on a summer’s day.
I’d be nice and cool if I was in Great Britain;
I’d even have to wear a coat and a mitten.

So a couple of weeks ago I had this dream that I was in England, London to be exact. It might have to due with the fact that I was re-watching Sherlock that night, but he funnily wasn’t in my dream.

Anyways, I am digressing from the dream and need to get back on track.

So in my dream I was visiting or there for a job, it wasn’t quite clear (you know how dreams are) and I just kept going on and on about how awesome the weather is.

And everyone was asking me what I was talking about as the weather was hot to them. I pointed out that it was in the ’70s and there was a chance of rain, the complete opposite of how hot is has been in California lately. And I’m not kidding it has been crazy hot.

The last few days (before my dream) it had been 102-104 degrees fahrenheit. It was hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk (By the way, never ever do that. My friend and I did it once and it was impossible to scrape off.)

A five minute walk from my car in the parking lot to staff entrance left me feeling as if I was melting into a puddle.

I went to an outdoor wedding, I don’t know why they did that as it was crazy, and felt like I lost ten pounds due to sweat. I’m not kidding, I almost slipped out of my seat.

So it makes sense that my subconcious really wants to go to someplace cool, where I can wear coats, sweaters, and mittens.

In fact I keep wishing it to be October (the start of rain) .

The dream went on to be a bit boring. I was dog sitting a giant great dane named, Whittaker.

There was also this part where I wasn’t using the car to see the sights, and the people I was visiting/renting from were worried about me, thinking something was wrong. In reality, I was afraid to drive as everything is backwards. I was so sure I would drive like Booth in  the Bones episode when they go to England, and horribly crash.

When I woke up I was sad to discover I wasn’t in nice, cool England; but hot sweaty California.
