The Final Chapter

So if you have been following my blog you probably wonder why my attitude from my ex went from I’m happy it’s over to he’s a cheating, lying,

wordICan't say Toy Story

Some of you are probably like that is every relationship, but no that’s not the reason. Let me back up and just give you who are new to following a brief recap.

So my ex and I broke up last year and it was not the best ending for me. You see I was away at school and we were trying to make a long-distance relationship work.

longdistancenicholassparks

I had thought things were fine, until Michael, my ex started talking to me less and less. I went down to see him and he took an extra shift. When I was coming back for Thanksgiving he wasn’t sure he would be able to fit me in.

Now for all you people (and me now) it is clear that this guy was obviously moving on from me. But of course, I didn’t see it as:

Love_Is_Blind_by_Luquicas

So he was talking to me less and less and I was just so confused by it.

VeronicaMarsBrokenUpbutNot

My grandfather died, and still barely any peep from him. I know, my grandfather dies and he can’t see me or comfort me. What a major loser, am I right?

Jerk

So I go surprise attack him and see him, trying to get an answer out of him why he was so distant. Did he even want to stay together? You know, the usual questions. I mean I was so confused and unhappy and emotional, I just wanted the truth. We ended up breaking up. Now at first I was completely heartbroken, and there are earlier posts which detail that phase of my life.

HeartHurtsDon'tKnowCanDoAgainHeartbroken

In fact I stupidly blamed myself for most of it. Maybe if I had done this differently or this we would still be together.

what-not-to-say-to-broken-hearted-girl-3what went wrong holiday

Luckily, I eventually realized it wasn’t all my fault, in fact I was a great girlfriend. I sent him care packages, I treated him wonderfully and he was the one who was acting wrong and not like a boyfriend at all. I mean I got hit on by tons of guys and could have cheated on him or passed him up for someone “better”, but I didn’t as I really cared about him. I’m not gonna lie, it took a while, but I eventually got over him.

Miss you less sweeney-todd-sweeney-todd-23636342-500-270

I realized that breaking up was better than being in a relationship that was becoming non-existent.

EndingisBetterThanPending

I mean he couldn’t even get up the balls to break up with me. Like what was he expecting me to do  over Christmas break? Never come around?

Hatetobeignored

But then I found out something. You see, Michael was cheating on me those past few months of our relationship. When I found that out I was incensed! I wanted to hurt him so bad!

broken-heart-breakYouPatrick

I was seriously angry. I would imagine myself going and punching his lights out.

dean_punching_supernatural

I really wanted to make him pay. In fact it took every ounce of my will to not go to his work and teach him a lesson.

GoldenGirlsGetIceCreamCommitFelony

Now some of you this might seem a normal response, but for those of you who are shocked or appalled at my confession, let me tell you why this rankled me so much. You see I have always vetted the guys I date very throughly, so much that many don’t make it far with me. Yes, I’m picky but I just don’t want any old boy.

HighstandardsExtraordinary

And I had allowed Michael to get farther than any other boy had. I became his girlfriend, which is something I had always stayed away from becoming as I was always afraid of picking the wrong guy. With Michael, I didn’t think we were soul mates or meant to be together forever, but he just seemed so right.

he gets me

Only for me to find out I was dead wrong. Extremely wrong. You see when he asked me to be his girlfriend I told him I had three rules he had to agree to for me to say yes. The first was to NEVER, EVER cheat on me. Cheating is just a horrible thing to do as it screws people up for a long time. Second to call or skype me once a week, and third visit me at least once a semester. He agreed, especially to the first rule as he had been cheated on before and knew what it felt like.

That horrible guy!

GoldenGirlsEat&DieTrash

How could he treat me like that if he knew how it felt! I was enraged! But slowly, I got over it.

Bandaid

It sucks that the first guy I gave my heart to turned out to be such a Wickham:

Darcy Wickham Pride&Prejudice

But I’m not going to let him have any more power over my life. I already wasted time thinking, crying, plotting revenge, etc on him.

moveon

It sucks that he turned out to be such a rotter, but that’s life right? You can’t protect yourself from everything.

falsepersonSoulmate

Bitterness, resentment, and revenge may seem like your best friends, but they really aren’t doing you any favors.

resentmentForgiveinfavor

After all, they’ve already misused you, why let them continue that. It is always better to move on.

strongwoman

And I’m not letting that guy hurt me anymore. After all I got the best deal. I love his family, and they still love me. Plus I’m amazing! Eventually, maybe not anytime soon, but one day he’ll realize what a catch I was and kick himself for letting me get away! Your loss!

yourloss

And someone else’s gain.

And you are out of my thoughts forever.

I don't need you

And that would be the end of the post, except for one thing. I did see him again. And no I didn’t hit him or injure him.

You see every year my family goes to see the free Christmas play in town. And this year guess who had the lead? Michael.

mob

Grab your torches and sharpen your pitchforks!

No I’m kidding. It actually wasn’t that bad. I saw his relatives again who I absolutely adore. I saw him and to be honest I didn’t care. I will admit that at one time the urge to kick him really hard came over me:

KickShin

But it was a really small urge.

In fact seeing him again, I actually wasn’t impressed. No heartfelt longing to get back together. No breaking down and crying. In fact, nothing at all.

OverThemNewPerspectiveNothingSpecial

Now some of you might be wondering why I haven’t said anything about the girl he cheated on me with. I don’t really feel as if I can say anything because I don’t really know her role in this. Did she know he had a girlfriend? Did she try purposely to break us up? And to be honest, if she was actively involved than she is a horrible person, as scamming on somebody else’s person is just down right low. But, the person in the relationship is more at fault as they should know better.

And you know what, whoever is at fault, they’re going to get what’s coming to them. What goes around comes around. I don’t have to settle the score as someone else will. What’s important is to concentrate on me, and the next phase of my life.

Some of you may think, that’s a lot of personal information. Aren’t I worried if the guy finds out and reads it? Well, first of all:

Idon'tcareanymoreDeanWinchesterSupernatural

And secondly, if he wanted me to say something nice, he should have been nicer.

storiestellthemhowyouwant

Now I’m planning this to be the very last post on my ex, I’m not planning on seeing him ever, and I don’t think I will write another thing on him. Now think is the operative word as every time I thought the Verne Saga was over, he would come around again.

So I am going to end this last ex post with something I want you all to remember. If you have ever been hurt by someone, let it go and never, ever let it take over your life or destroy your personality.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So last year, there was this freshman boy, Verne, that kept hitting on me. He just sat with me one day when I was waiting for a friend, (click here to read), and I was my typical cool self. I thought, what are the odds of seeing him again? Not very high, that’ll be the end of it.

Hahahahahaha,

Hahahahahaha,

Oh, ho, ho. I was sooooooooooooo wrong. I went out bowling with my friends and guess who just happened to be bowling as well, right next to me. Yep, it was him. (My life should be a movie or a TV show) To get the full story, check it here. I told him I had a boyfriend, which was a lie, but thought that would end it completely. Right?

You never learn

You never learn

That’s right. It was not the end. So we had another encounter, he found me when I was on my way to class. And again I thought this was it, this was the end.

Really? Really? After all that has happened?

Really? Really? After all that has happened?

Yep, he entered my life again. My friends and I went to a Halloween dance and he came, but luckily I had my friends there to run interference for me.

So after that, I didn’t really run into him again. If I saw him I would abruptly away and flee whatever direction he was going in.

I use this picture so much I should just make it my widget!

One time we almost ran into each other, but I hid behind some bushes until he was gone.

But the other day, as I was walking to class I ran into him again.

He saw me on the second floor and called out to me. I quickly got out of there and continued on my way. I hope this doesn’t mean a return to my life.

2) #1 Post

Also according to WordPress, my most popular day was October 31st . Surprisingly; instead of the number one post being Everyone’s Entitled to One Good Scare: Halloween (1978), which I posted that day; I Bid You Welcome: Dracula (1931) took the lead. It still remains the number one viewed post. #2 was A Fright on Halloween Night: The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (1949), #3 Grimwood Ghouls’ Gym Teacher: Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School (1988), #4 A Monster Race: Scooby-Doo and the Reluctant Werewolf (1988), #5 Quite A Horror Story: Agatha Christie’s Poirot Hallowe’en Party (2011), and #6 being By George He’s Perfect.

4) The Verne Saga

In September, a guy named Verne tried to hit on me, but I brushed him off never thinking I would see him again. That was proved wrong as he kept popping up. To read the whole story check out Flirting With Disaster, Bowled Over, Bad Penny, and Return of the Verne.

7) Horrorfest

For the month of October, I posted a blog everyday that reviewed/had to do with a monster/horror/suspense movie. It was an enormous feat and took a lot of time to do. There were many days when I almost gave up, but I ended up completing my goal and posting all 31. This is something I plan to do again next October, along with possibly doing something in February for Valentine’s Day. The films I reviewed were The Phantom of the Opera (1925), Dracula (1931), Frankenstein (1931), The Bride of Frankenstein (1935), The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (1949), The Bad Seed (1956), The Giant Behemoth (1959), Carnival of Souls (1962), Night of the Living Dead (1968), Attack of the Killer Tomatoes (1978), Halloween (1978), Friday the 13th (1980), Poltergeist (1982), Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), The Black Cauldron (1985), Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School (1988), Scooby-Doo and the Reluntant Werewolf (1988),  Arachnophobia (1990), The Addam’s Family Values (1993), The Cable Guy (1996), Phantom of the Megaplex (2000), The Secret Window (2004), The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (2005), Perfect Stranger (2007), Aliens in the Attic (2009), and Agatha Christe’s Poirot: Halloween Party (2011).

The days I didn’t review a film I talked about Universal’s classic monster films, the internet movie Butterfinger the 13th, the Even Stevens Halloween Special, Archie’s Weird Mysteries: Attack of the Killer Spuds, and the Austen men in Halloween costumes.

8) Christmas Failure

I tried to do 12 posts of Christmas reviewing Christmas films, but I just became too sick to continue it. I was only able to do five posts about Christmas films-The 12 Men of Christmas, The Santa Clause, Borrowed Hearts, Holiday in Handcuffs, and The Bishop’s Wife. I did one Jane Austen birthday post that I tied into Christmas, a post I know you Austenites would love. And I did a final post listing off six of my favorite songs of Christmas to “equal” 12 “posts”. I’m sorry I had to disappoint you.

heading-banner11970857801243195263Andy_heading_flourish.svg.hi

Well I hope you’ve enjoyed the posts of this past year, I loved writing them. Here’s to a new year full of new surprises, ideas, and adventures. I wish you all the very best in the upcoming year; may it satisfy you all and me a memorable time. Happy New Year!

I think it will be one lucky year, no matter what the superstitious say!

For another holiday post go to It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

The Return of the Verne

So if you have been following the Verne saga, you are well aware of his habit of popping up in random places and trying to talk to me/convince me to go out with him.  I hadn’t seen him in weeks, and was convinced the reign of terror was over. (J/K it wasn’t that terrifying). But it wasn’t over. Just like in Return of the Living Dead, nothing is ever truly over, they only just begin once again.

Mal_huh Whoa Wow

So I went to a dance this week, and me and my friends were just cheering and having fun hanging out, when I look across the room and there he was! Verne! I want to be a lawyer Verne.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m not particularly proud of this but I hid away from him, and had my friends run interference for me until he ultimately left. I know that’s mean, but all I wanted was a nice time with my friends and no one to bother me. It was a great night beside that.

heading-banner11970857801243195263Andy_heading_flourish.svg.hi

To read the rest of the Verne Saga; check out Flirting With Disaster, Bowled Over, and Bad Penny.

Bad Penny

So I don’t understand how I always manage to run into people I don’t want to see, but never those I do. In fact it is always the people I want to leave me ALONE, that tend to come by. I’m a total Anne Elliot, avoiding people I don’t want to see, trying to get them to stay away from me. This is my total MO, more info on that later

Avoidance sounds like a GREAT plan!

So anyways today I was walking to my class completely lost in my own thoughts about all the stuff I had to do.

La-di-dah! Just minding my own business

When all of a sudden someone grabs me from behind!

I start FREAKING out only to realize………………………..

That it is Verne.

Yes the very same Verne who tried to flirt with me and was at the bowling alley!

I could just not get rid of this guy! Like no matter what I did he was like a bad penny coming back again. Or an evil teddy bear. (more on the teddy bear story later!)

All I could think in my head was this:

So he started talking to me again, asking me for the 3rd TIME what my name was. Seriously, how many times am I going to have to tell you?

He told me I had embarrassed him in front of all his friends, and how I totally rejected him. I was just like, get over it! There are plenty of girls on this campus; you can find another one! Ha, trying to make me feel guilty? He doesn’t know who he’s dealing with. I’ve been through ARGS before. (Elton series; part 1, 2, & 3)

Don’t mess with me!

So I was able to get away from him and back to my work, but unfortunately I’m still a Pinocchio. He asked me again about the “boyfriend”, and I was like

Yeah, he’s good! Everything is great with him.

Just call me Pinocchio

Guess I better start getting ready for that nest, because at this rate my nose will be becoming a tree.

The story doesn’t end here.

Bowled Over

So last week I wrote a post, Flirting With Disaster, on how awful I am with flirting. I also mentioned that this guy Verne came over and tried to flirt with me, but had a major fail. Well the story didn’t end there.

The other day I went bowling with some friends. We were having fun and hanging out. Everyone was making fun of my unique bowling style, which involves the bowling ball going reeeeallllly sloooooow. I mean it goes as slow as the girl in the Disney film Alley Cats Strike!

So my turn came up and I went up to the ball return, looking for the one I had been using when all of a sudden the a guy from the group next to us says:

“Hey I see you have a mustang on your shirt. Do you like to ride in them?”

I look up to see what kind of loser is trying to come on to me with that lame line and then it hits me………………………..

It’s VERNE!

Verne, I want to be a lawyer Verne. The Verne who wouldn’t leave me alone that day!

I was so shocked at running into him again, that I shouted you’re VERN! Then he realized who I was.

Unfortunately, sparking his memory of me didn’t really help me out that night. He told me that he had been high that whole day and actually remembered very little about me. To “make up” for this he spent the rest of the night trying to get to know me.

BoothBonesNo bowlingtonight

I also found out from him that not only did he like to get high all the time, but he liked to party all the time. I am just not into guys who just want to kill off their brain cells with drugs and alcohol, oh no not for me.

Then he tells me that he is going to be doing maintenance, “because he is really good with his hands”.

UGH! Gag Me!

ew! Gross Yuck

Like what part of that line am I really supposed to find attractive?

No

So at the end of the night he tells me he’s going home but would like to get my number.

In my head I’m like

So I’m about to tell him I don’t give my number out to strange guys who party but I only get as far as:

I can’t. I don’t give out my number because…

When he interrupts me and says:

Oh you have a boyfriend?

I know it’s wrong to lie, but I saw this as an easy out and went with it

Well kinda, yeah I do. Sorry!

Just call me Pinocchio

Hey I could have been mean like I’ve been with other guys. I figured this lie wasn’t too painful. Hopefully my nose doesn’t start growing, I think it is just right as it is.

But that is not the end of it. Check out Bad Penny

Flirting With Disaster

Let me just say that I am terrible at flirting…

seductive

It actually pretty ironic, because if I know a guy doesn’t like me, or I’m just hanging out with guys talking to them, people say I flirt like crazy; that I’m a natural at it. Unfortunately I can’t actually willingly flirt.

The worst is when a guy tries to flirt with me. I’m am the worst person to try to flirt with. Instead of being all cute back, I just become extremely unresponsive. It’s an automatic reaction.

Flirting&FailingLoving WithEyesBoyMeetsWorld

The other day I was sitting reading, while waiting to meet with a friend, and this guy comes out and says to me

Whoa! What a BIG-A** BOOK!”

He then decided to sit across from  me and started telling me all kind of things about himself, intent on impressing me.

Im my head I was like “Who is this guy?”

TalkWhenREading

So his name was Verne, he is from the San Francisco area, and wants to be a lawyer. That last fact he repeated constantly, telling me over and over again how he was going to be a lawyer, what type, how cool it will be, the money that he will be making…

I just sat there nodding my head, and saying ok in a neutral tone. I was not very impressed.

I_don't_care

Eventually my friend came and claimed her seat, forcing him to leave and continue on his way.

This is my usual MO, neutral tone, total ice queen, hardly offering any details myself. I always feel sorry for the poor suckers that try to flirt with me. I’ve never met a guy who was able to get me reciprocate back. I guess I’m just a Mr. Darcy, too cool to others.

No expression on the face.

The story doesn’t end there. To continue to part two go to Bowled Over.
