We Wish You A Merry Christmas

For the past two years I have done a countdown post of 25 of my favorite films that feature Christmas. I was going to do another one this year, but was too tired from yesterday’s post. So instead I am going to do something different, I’m going to finish up our 25 Carols of Christmas posts.

But before I do that, I want to stop and acknowledge who’s birthday today is, other than Jesus. Today marks the 200th birthday of Emma.

This book was published in 1815, and changed literature. Yes, what started out as a character that only Austen was supposed to like, turned into something beloved by all.

From her radical views on marriage and love:

To her crazy schemes that always ended comedically.

And let’s not forget the handsome Knightley, the purveyor of common sense and one handsome hunk.

Happy 200 Emma! Here’s to another!

Now for today’s Christmas Carol. It was hard to choose the final one, but in the end I decided to go with my absolute favorite Christmas Carol, We Wish You a Merry Christmas.

This Christmas Carol came about from the tradition of wealthy Englishmen giving treats to Christmas carolers, such as fig, raisin, or other type of pudding.

I just love the beat and the lyrics. This song is so much fun and truly helps you wish a Merry Christmas.

So in that case I wish you all a Merry Christmas!

On the 6th,5th,4th,3rd,2nd, & 1st Days ‘Til Christmas: The Music of Christmas

Hey everyone, I am so sad to say this, but I just can’t complete the 12 Posts of Christmas. I thought I would but I ended up catching a virus and  getting really sick, along with having family/holiday things starting to occur. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and I promise you I will try to post something for Christmas.

Not to leave you all completely high and dry I’m going to end with my six favorite Christmas Carols.

It’s such a pretty song! Plus the chorus is so fun to sing along with.

Who doesn’t like this song? It’s just fun to sing.

4) The Christmas Song

Another Bing Crosby! I just love his voice and this song!

3) The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don’t Be Late)

Com’on it’s chipmunks! What could be cuter! Alvin and Theodore were always my favorites.

2) Do You Hear What I Hear?

I first heard it in The Little Drummer Boy sequel and loved it! It’s so pretty and here is a video of Bing Crosby singing in his melodious voice. I love the part that goes “a star, a star, way up in the night with a tail as long as a kite”.

1) We Wish You A Merry Christmas

My favorite verse is bring us some figgy pudding! We won’t go until we get some! I just love the fact that the carolers are demanding it! It always makes me laugh when I sing it.
